MK & Associates’ supervising Senior Engineer and President, Mark Ezra, P.E., is a licensed and registered mechanical engineer and a certified safety engineer. He has over 250,000 miles of motorcycle operational and testing experience, and continues to ride high performance motorcycles regularly.

Mr. Ezra began his motorcycle experience while still at engineering school in Manchester, England; he later worked as the European After-Sales Service Controller for the European office of Yamaha motorcycles located in Amsterdam, Holland, before taking a research position at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1981, Mr. Ezra returned to Europe where he continued his engineering consulting in the fields of motorcycle engineering design and analysis, motorcycle accident reconstruction and General Aviation. In 1996, Mr. Ezra moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he joined renowned forensic engineering firm, Senne, Kelsey & Associates. In 2006, Mr. Ezra founded MK & Associates, LLC.

MK & Associates’ also works closely with Gary Kmiecik who has 22 years of consulting experience in motorcycle and ATV accident reconstruction and expert testimony. Mr. Kmiecik’s advanced knowledge of motorcycle mechanics, riding, testing and advanced training courses in accident reconstruction allows him to consider all facets of a motorcycle and all terrain vehicles accidents.

Mr. Kmiecik has more than 38 years of motorcycle riding experience. In addition, he is a certified Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Skills Instructor for beginning and experienced riders. Expert knowledge of motorcycle handling and rider experience is critical when reconstructing an accident.

As a former motorcycle dealership manager and service manager, Mr. Kmiecik understands the responsibility of the manufacturer and dealership for the mechanical condition of the motorcycle. He has been factory trained as a mechanic and service technician for Harley Davidson, Suzuki and BMW. In addition, Mr. Kmiecik is able to determine whether the motorcycle is factory stock or has been modified by another party.

Mr. Kmiecik’s knowledge and significant personal and professional background in motorcycles and rider training is vital in determining the complex circumstances relating to a motorcycle accident. In addition to thorough research, Mr. Kmiecik performs a detailed investigation that may include the mechanical condition of the motorcycle, motorcycle dynamics, rider experience, test riding and accident evidence in reconstructing an accident.

Mr. Peters has been in the field of fire investigation since 2002, when he began working under the tutelage of Ronald F. Gronemeyer.

Certified by the State of Missouri as a Fire Investigator and Safety Consultant, Mr. Peters is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and has a degree in Fire Protection Technology. He draws on more than six years of private sector work conducting investigations and interviews, designing and executing tests, and performing comprehensive research for cases involving mechanical, civil, electrical and design evaluation engineering.

Neil Peters brings an object, thorough and scientific mindset to bear in all of his endeavors. With a B.S. in Biology and experience working in the bio-tech industry, he understands the importance of using the scientific method and its relevance to conducting an object investigation that can stand up to challenges in a court of law.
